Welcome to my house!!! Persiaran 13, No. 32, Taman Arena Kepayang, Ipoh 31400, Perak Darul Ridzuan. Actually not my house at all, I am just renting, he..he. Well, I hope this article will be able to overcome my family curiosity. They always worry about me, “Are you sleeping well?” or “What foods do you eat every day?” That’s we always feel when one or more of our family members are living quite far away from our hometown, right???
All right, now I try to depict what is the circumstance in my surrounding home stay. I live with 4 medical students who study in the same college where in I teach. I don’t mind live with them as long as we can keep our privacies. And my goodness they all are nice persons. They would help me anytime I have a problem. Otherwise, I don’t teach them since I only teach in Pharmacy while they are medical students. So I think my privacy and confidentiality about office documents will be well secured.
I rent one room, but I think it’s too big size for me considering I don’t have a lot of furniture inside. I prefer to simplify it since I am just a foreigner. Sooner or later I will go back to my country and I don’t want too busy carrying out my bulky belongings across the ocean.
I sit in the second floor which straight connects to the Balcones. I love it because I can inhale the fresh air when a night was coming. Balcones is my favorite part of house I won’t leave it in a long time. I got a plenty of inspiration in teaching, research, writing, and so many other activities. Otherwise, I love staying alone to see the moon, the stars, and clouds in the dark night that would make me missing about my hometown in Indonesia. I like to see in the darkness alike I want to find out the mystery and break down into many problems that I have to resolve it. We can imagine anything when we saw in the darkness. That’s fitted with my interesting in a medicinal chemistry that I have to imagine how the drug could bind the active site of receptor or enzyme in our bodies that we can’t ever seen by naked eyes.
I just have one mattress, 1 cupboard to put my clothes, 1 set of PC and 1 set of flexible table and chair that I can use it whether for dining or working. There is a private bathroom inside. So simple, is it??? I love to breathe as much as possible in a large space that won’t be interfered by my crowed goods. Actually my house has 3 levels; level 1 is used for living room that TV has been provided by the owner. But I rarely watch TV program. There is one room that has been occupied with one of my housemates, kitchen, dining room, bathroom and washing room.
Now, we are going upstairs in level 2, that consist of 3 rooms, mine and 2 others are occupied by my housemates either. Go second upstairs, now we have been sitting in level 3. Actually it can’t be said as a private room because no barrier is there but occasionally somebody who has no other choices can use this room to sleep as well. The stair straight connects to the room so I think not quite enough privacy is there. It was my room when I came to Ipoh at the first time and when one of my housemates moved out, I moved in.
My surrounding neighbors was a Chinese at the most, yah.. Ipoh is one of Chinese town in Malaysia. We can see from the style of house that reddish and accessorized by lampion. I love to stay here because the view is so beautiful. Accrosing from my house there is a small jungle and fully by the mini river that has a clean, fresh and cool flowed water. There are some fish living under the river that people like to fish it. The good things in Malaysia, people have awareness to keep and maintain the conservation of environment. They never destroy, cutting down the trees or hunting wild life illegally because the regulation here is very straight.
I love to listen a singing bird, to smell the blooming rose, to cool my feet in the river when a week end came. It made me closer to the nature and the power of God. I was alike to release all stress I have during the work days and make me re-fresh to get my activity again. It is also nearby the center town that is fully facilitated by restaurant, hotel, mini market, mall, barber shop, money changer, mosque, church, buddist/hindi castle, college, and so on. I am just walking every where I want to go. Hmm….so nice is it, so why don’t you (Indonesian especially) visit me in my “HOME SWEET HOME”???
